Lauren’s real estate and finance practice includes handling multi-asset portfolio sales and acquisitions, sophisticated multifamily transactions, and representing borrowers in a variety of financings. She works frequently with private equity groups, national multifamily property owners, and regional shopping center owners and developers on acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings that exceed tens of millions of dollars. Her experience includes negotiating loan documents, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debt, managing complex due diligence projects, coordinating refinancings on short timetables, and structuring 1031-driven sales and purchases. She is skilled at harmonizing the demands of lenders, investors, and business owners so that transactions keep momentum and progress to closing timely.

Her corporate and commercial practice aligns closely with her real estate work. Lauren represents buyers and sellers in asset and equity transactions, drafts and negotiates joint venture and operating agreements, and advises companies on ownership and governance structures. She also has experience representing businesses in asset-based lending. Liquor licensing and regulation remains a niche area of her practice in New Jersey. Her work during college with the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control and years of advising developers and hospitality clients allow her to help clients navigate these regulatory requirements strategically.

The complexity of Lauren’s practice reflects the interconnected, multilayered nature of the transactions she handles. She has a talent for seeing how the pieces of a puzzle connect — and where they could collide — so that deals close timely and efficiently. Clients value her problem-solving skills and draw on her deep transactional experience.

Lauren’s leadership within Hyland Levin Shapiro reflects the same steady judgment. In her role as Administrative and Personnel Partner, she manages multiple administrative functions, including firm policy development and staffing and personnel matters. She works closely with attorneys and professional staff to strengthen the systems that support client service. Lauren has a clear sense of what is equitable, what is sustainable, and what ultimately benefits the clients and people of Hyland Levin Shapiro. That same instinct for balance carries into her life outside the firm, where she cherishes time with her family and exploring the outdoors.
