Steve’s work is grounded in the reality that business and family decisions are rarely separate. After nearly three decades of advising closely held and family-owned companies, he has developed a way of approaching legal questions that is steady, practical, and focused on helping clients move through transitions with purpose. Whether a client is preparing for a business sale, thinking about future leadership, or coordinating personal and business priorities, he helps clients understand what the moment requires and what choices lie ahead.
Steve advises businesses on corporate matters, transactions, and day-to-day operational questions. He advises multiple generations of family‑held businesses on the full range of issues that arise at the intersection of corporate law, business succession, and personal wealth and legacy planning. His work includes helping business owners structure transitions, plan for future leadership, and align personal estate goals with the long‑term needs of the company. He also guides families through estate administration and business changes when the time comes to carry out those plans, ensuring the process reflects both the intent and the values of the people involved. He works closely with a client’s accounting and investment advisors so that every decision — structural, tax, or personal — fits together in support of long-term goals.
Clients appreciate Steve’s measured approach, translating complex concepts into plain, practical terms and helping people work through decisions at a pace that supports good judgment. Experience has shown him that sometimes pausing rather than pushing can create the space needed for better strategies and better conversations to emerge.
Throughout his career, Steve has taken an active role in supporting the integrity of the legal profession in New Jersey, including serving on the New Jersey Supreme Court’s District I Ethics Committee and the District I Fee Arbitration Committee. His commitment to community runs just as deep, reflected in his work with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and the Tom Fabietti Scholarship Foundation.
