Jenise M. Rivera, an associate with the firm, concentrates her practice on community associations and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Hyland Levin Shapiro, Jenise practiced at an NLJ 500 law firm. From 2023 through 2025, Jenise completed a two-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Craig M. Straw at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where she handled a variety of complex civil litigation matters through all stages of litigation. From 2022 through 2023, Jenise practiced at a regional mid-sized law firm. Previously, she also clerked with the Honorable Francisco Dominguez, Superior Court of New Jersey, from 2021 through 2023. Jenise was a summer intern with Hyland Levin Shapiro in 2020.
Areas of Practice
Jenise earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School—Camden (2021), where she received the Pro Bono Publico Award. During law school, she served as Staff Editor for the Rutgers University Journal of Law and Religion and as President of the Latino Law Students’ Association (Alianza).
Jenise received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University (Summa Cum Laude, B.A., 2018) with a double major in psychology and urban studies. During her time at Rutgers, she also served as president of Psi Chi, the Psychology Honors Society.
Jenise is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association and serves as the LALSA Outreach Chair of the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania (“HBAPA”) and HBAPA Legal Education Fund.
Jenise grew up in southern New Jersey and is proficient in Spanish. When not practicing law, Jenise enjoys reading and cooking.
