The firm is pleased to announce that Barbara “Basia” K. Peragine has joined Hyland Levin Shapiro LLP. Basia is an incoming associate pending bar admission and will concentrate her practice on commercial litigation and employment law.
Basia was a member of Hyland Levin Shapiro’s 2024 summer associate class. Her previous experience includes serving as a certified legal intern with the Villanova Law Civil Justice Clinic, handling family law matters, and interning with a Philadelphia law firm, where she assisted with mediations. She also completed an externship with a sports consulting firm, focusing on NIL matters and contract review.
“We are thrilled to have Basia join our firm,” says Partner Megan Knowlton Balne. “It has been wonderful to watch Basia grow from a summer associate to a full member of our team. Basia will bring her energy and enthusiasm to our Litigation Risk Management Group and will contribute as part of our Employment Practice Group,” said Partner, Megan Knowlton Balne.
Basia is a graduate of Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law (J.D. 2025), where she served as Events Chair of the Student Bar Association and as an associate editor and staff writer for the Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with minors in Economics and Spanish, from Stonehill College in 2023.
In her spare time, Basia enjoys experimenting with new recipes, staying active, and attending live concerts.
