Shapiro, recently co-presented a program at the 41st Annual ABA Forum on Franchising in Nashville, TN on the topic of “The Intersection of Franchise and Real Estate Law”. The ABA Forum hosts an annual three-day conference, with over 800 attendees, featuring unparalleled education programs and collegial social events. Mark’s session included discussion of:

    • Real estate provisions in franchise agreements
    • Franchise provisions in real estate leases
    • Enforcing rights granted under these documents
    • Resolving conflicts regarding collateral at termination of the relationship among franchisor, franchisee, landlord and lender.

  • Daniella Gordon Re-Elected to Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers

Hluchan, has been installed for a two-year term as President of the Georgetown University Alumni Association.  As President, Rich will assume a leadership role over 190,000 Georgetown alumni around the globe.  Georgetown University was founded in 1789 in Washington, DC, and is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit University in the United States.

    Hyland Levin’s Megan Knowlton Balne was recently installed as a member of the New Jersey Law Journal’s Young Lawyers Advisory Board.  The 11-member team comes from a diverse legal group including those from large firms to small boutique firms, as well as from government positions to in-house counsel positions.  They meet once a month to share personal insights on what it means to be an attorney today, and to share their personal experiences.  They write articles, read drafts, send comments and interact with the public and one another through their twitter account, @YoungLawyersNJL.
