Melissa M. Grossman, a partner, concentrates her practice in estate planning, estate and trust administration, and business succession planning. Melissa advises high net worth individuals and families in connection with complex tax and administration issues relating to intergenerational wealth transfer and the transitioning of closely held family businesses as part of a tailored and tax-efficient estate plan.
Melissa joined Hyland Levin LLP after being in the Private Client Group at Dechert LLP where she began her legal career after graduating from New York University School of Law in 2005.
In addition to developing and implementing sophisticated wealth transfer plans, Melissa advises clients on charitable giving, business succession planning and related tax matters. She also counsels executors and trustees in the administration of complex estates and trusts and represents clients in audits of estate tax and gift tax returns.
Before attending law school, Melissa was an associate with First Manhattan Consulting Group in New York, where she managed strategy, profitability and customer segmentation projects for companies in the financial services industry.
Melissa is a member of the Legacy Advisors Committee for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and sits on the Board of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. She also is active in the Voorhees Basketball Association serving as a board member and the commissioner for the 1st and 2nd Grade Boys Instructional League.
Melissa is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (B.S. 1998), and New York University School of Law, (J.D. 2005), where she was an article editor and member of the Annual Survey of American Law Journal. Melissa is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Outside of the office, Melissa enjoys playing piano, writing music, cooking, volleyball and spending time with her husband and two young sons.
